The College of Business Administration is accepting applications for the Information Systems Minor for Spring 2005.  Admission will be based on the minimum qualifications below.  Any student with a declared major may apply.  Non-College of Business students will be required to complete some additional business coursework.

Admission to the minor:

*    Declared Major
*    I-S 220 with a B or higher grade
*    MTH 151 or MTH 175 with C or higher grade
*    Overall GPA 2.5 or higher

Retention in the minor:

C-S 120 must be taken no later than the first term in the minor and a grade of B/C or higher is required.  If taken prior to application, then a grade of B/C or higher is required for admission.

Coursework required in the minor (see catalog for course descriptions):

*    C-S 120 will replace C-S 220 as a prerequisite for I-S 401 for IS minor students. 

** Note that required courses for the student’s major may NOT be counted twice as completion of the minor elective requirement.

For non-business students, additional coursework may be done prior to acceptance into the minor or taken during completion of the minor:  ECO 110 and either ACC 235 or the combination of ACC 221 and ACC 222.

Admission Procedure

1)      Application Form

           Pick up the Application Form from the IS department, Wing 240 or download it from the IS website at http://www.is.uwlax.edu/ISwebsite/ISminor.htm.

2)      Submission

Fill out the Application Form, attach a copy of your transcript and submit them to the IS department office in Wing 240.

3)   Admission Decision

The IS faculty will review all applications and each applicant will also be notified of the admission decision by mail.
